At the end of Sunday's 'Words and Music' I heard the start of a beautiful flute sonata (or flute something) which I really wanted to hear more of. As it was late, I decided to go to bed and 'listen again'... and now I can't find the peice I was listening to  Sad

I though it must have been The Early Music Show, but the only Early Music Show on listen again is a repeat of Sunday's lunchtime 'French Revolution' show (which didn't really grab me at the time).

And the schedule for the midnight Early Music Show tells me that it was harpsichord music. No, sorry, I may have been half asleep but I can tell a flute when I hear one!

Confused  Huh

It is on listen again...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/wordsandmusic/pip/belnu/

Somwhere between 1h40m and 1h45m into the recording it starts.

The announcement says it was CPE Bach Sonata in E minor,

(played by two people with untranscribable belgo/dutch names - Bartoldh Kogan and Evart de Meere)

That would probably be Barthold Kuijken and Ewald Demeyere.

It might be from this:

Hope that helps.

Thanks for that, it was worth listening to!

Still puzzling, though. The announcement on the end of Words and Music gives the impression that it's going to be a complete recital... but after five minutes it stops and the rest of it is nowhere to be found  Undecided
