Cynic as I am, I confess I was moved by the reactions of the people to whom Tasmin Little played some Bach ... especially the children and the winos weeping.

I wonder what their reaction would have been if she had played them some Schnittke or Xenakis?

But really, I think she is a frightful show-off with her Guadagnini. Enough to put anyone off classical music.

I saw most of the programme too Peter. Well if you want people to hear you playing, and you do it in unlikely places then it's hard not to come across as a show-off, though I agree she didn't need to take a 1757 violin with her, I'm sure she could make a 1890 strad copy sing beautifully too  Smiley

She really did bond with the winos; when the chap wrapped in the Irish flag cried as he heard her play Theme to Schindler's List and I loved it when all the Irish folk jumped up and did their jigs to the Bartok dance that she played.

I'd like to hear more of the female composer she was working/composing with, Roxanna Panufnik.
