How about,

Tchaikovsky - Swan Lake
Sibelius - Swan of Tuanela
Elgar - Cello Concerto (often referred to as his swan song)
Debussy - Violin Sonata (often referred to as his swan song)

Not the sea, I'm afraid. The Debussy is probably the best known of the four and is a piano piece.

Oh.  Worth a try, anyway.

Debussy - Golliwog's Cake Walk?

No, it isn't! I've noticed that sometimes the odd avatar gets changed for no apparent reason... Angry My Santa-hatted Inquisitor is at home at the moment, so he'll be back later this evening (as we like to show the cuddly side to the Inquisition!!  Shocked)

Not the Golliwog's Cake-Walk either, Ruth.

AH - I'm getting trees...

L'arbre des songes (Dutilleux)
I talk to the trees (Loewe)
The Trees so High (Hadley)
The Trees (Previn)
Im Prater blühn wieder die Bäume (Stolz)

I see Andre Previn also had a hand in the film version of Paint Your Wagon (and am childishly amused to see two song titles listed next to each other in Wikipedia - Hand Me Down That Can Of Beans followed by They Call the Wind Maria...)

OK, I'm back!

An alternative to the Tchaikovksy would be Rimsky-Korsakov.

Elgar
Debussy
Tchaikovsky
Sibelius
Rimsky-Korsakov

Elgar - Sea Pictures
Debussy - La mer
Tchaikovsky - Sea in the Moonlight (from Swan Lake)
Sibelius - The Oceanides

Another common theme is in fact moonlight is not it? At least one work of all five men has that in its name. . . .

Well done, sir! Clearly, you CAN see the wood for them! And I do like your punch-line; it was worth submitting this one just to get that!

Best,
