Hans HOLBEIN the Younger

Bugler, I missed 1533!  Angry

Oh well. Yes, um, 1545 was well known as the 12th anniversary of the painting of Holbein's The Ambassadors. No? Won't pass?

This is from 1545 then. Fussy lot you are.

Did you see anyone complain, Ozzy?

1546, the year of Martin Luther's passing. He looks all forlorn in black and white.

1547, the year of King Henry VIII's passing. He looks all two-dimensional.

I'm sure Henry VIII would have approved, had he lived long enough to try it...

I'm a big fan of this book, surprisingly enough. At least in some of its incarnations - don't know the 1552 specifically...

Andy, who's your Estonian train-spotter friend? Or it is <shudder> you?

In any case, terviseks!
