Lord B - I record R3 from the Sky feed to my HDD recorder and the quality is far better than fm, as I then run it through my hi-fi set-up rather than television speakers. It's also possible to save anything I want to DVD.

I've recently dug out my FM tuner to try in my new(ish) location, IGI, to add to the DAB and two satellite-based receivers already in operation; it's a revelation. The signal here is much stronger and cleaner than it was in Reading, and, at best, the results knock both digital options into a cocked hat, though it proves that some of the problems I've hitherto ascribed to DAB are occasionally inherent in the source; although most 'live' concerts sound good, there have been a couple where the string sound was just plain nasty. It's early days yet, but my preference is certainly for FM at the moment...
