Last night my feller replied to my quoting of a line of poetry in this way:-

'I'm not thick and don't call me Rose'

What did I say before that?

Any other suggestions for answers and questions or statements which may have prompted them?

Which reminds me, the Benjamin Britten rose - as shown on my avatar if I'm lucky - is now out in my garden. He has been a bit sick with attention from greenfly, but has survived, and looks just like the photo.

During a temp job, one of my colleagues related that she had complained to honorable spouse "itchy knee", to which H.S. had replied "san". My first (and only) lesson in Japanese; 1,2,3,4.

One of my colleagues is Japanese, she's been gradually teaching a few of us selected Japanese words; it's a most interesting language!
