I may be wrong on this but isn't when you are asleep and dreaming in a dream and you wake up termed a lucid dream?

Very disturbing. First I had to deal with various members of my family, and the church which I used to attend, condemning me for coming out as a lesbian.

Then I had to eat kittens! And they crunched!!  Tongue

Blimey Kitty, I read your post in Recent Posts before I realised what thread you'd posted it on - was getting really worried about the crunchy kittens.  Shocked

Cheesy Just remembered I met Stephen Fry! He was standing outside a big stone house with pillars and chatted to me as we walked through the house then down a path through the garden.  I felt very awed by his presence but annoyingly I can't remember clearly any more of the dream - I suppose that's not surprising since it's nearly 13 hours since I woke up - but I think it was quite long. Also a vague memory of finding interesting old things, perhaps pottery, and showing them to him.

Has anyone here really met him? I'd love to.

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

Stephen Fry stood next to me whilst I was waiting for a taxi outside the hotel we were both obviously staying at and whilst I am a huge fan and would have loved to have spoken to him, I resisted the temptation.  I always think it would be an intrusion on the privacy of well-known people to approach them.   He did smile at me though.  Smiley

I agree LB, but I can understand Milly not wanting to say anything. But he did smile at you Milly - how nice! He's huge isn't he. I was dwarfed next to him in that dream - as I would be in real life!

I went up to a bar (this is not a dream by the way) in a hotel and I was immediately followed by Ben Elton. I didn't speak to him for the same reasons that Milly Jones mentions. But he wasn't pushy and made sure I went first.

It's difficult for me to gauge people's height because I'm very small so everyone looks tall to me, but I'd have assessed him at 6'4".  He's broad-shouldered as well.  I would regale other tales of who I have found myself standing next to, but George's personal examples of various urinals cannot be beaten!   Cheesy

I remember chatting to some girl who told me she was at number 1 and I had no idea who she was, she could not believe this, though seemed to accept it when I said I was a radio 3 listener Smiley

I'm getting confused...some of these meetings are dreams, and some are reality.

My son stood next to Stephen Fry at some do, and said they are exactly the same height - just over 6' 4".

That wasn't a bad guess then from this little 5-footer! (People like that give me neck-ache anyway).

Last night I had a strange dream. At the end of it, I was lying in bed and I remember being worried about someone or something who might be in the house. The bedroom door banged, like someone had just put their weight on it and I woke up. Except that the exact point of waking up was confused and I couldn't work out if the noise had been in my dream or not. I was too tired to do anything about it (and the wind was blowing so I reckoned that it could have been a combination of dream-paranoia and a rattling door) so went back almost instantly to sleep. On waking I was slightly weirded out but got over it fairly quickly. Pretty glad I can't remember what it was I was worried was in the house now though...
