Hi
It looks like a man with either shaving foam or a custard tart on his face to me.
But I wouldn't for a second be able to pretend that I would undertand why!

I am here all alone 4.25a.m., no other poster in sight. Going away tomorrow, and had a mountain of the dreaded paperwork to do, so I have stayed up at my desk at work. Now it is (almost) all done, time to sneak off home, fortunately only 2 miles away, for a very short kip. But it was worth it to get it all out of the way, to go away with a clear head.
And the best thing is that I have not been alone. I have has a thoroughly enjoyable TTN from good old Radio 3. I hope it can stay....

In awe at your dedication It IS nice to have R3 24/7, indeed I sometimes think it's at it's best Through The Night; whatever they play then I can listen to yet during the daytime I'm forever switching off Also nice that you can drop a line here 24/7 even when there's no-one around John W

I have to agree John, it is lovely not to have abide by time restrictions on this board- often when coming home late I went on 'the other' board and by the time I had read all I wanted to there was no time to post !

Ho A, Did anyone identify your avatar in the end (I can't be bothered to trawl through 9 pages of rhread) - if not, it's the head of a frog of some description (possibly Rana temporalis, if it's a British species? - may have spelt that wrongly as my knowledge of Amphibians is somewhat limited!)

Could it be a person in a shroud/body bag? A painting of? Or am I being morbid?
Mort, you complain about toe nails... But you have got a point. I thought it looked like some sort of Thai or Buddhist icon, don't ask me why. By the time we work it out Bryn will have morphed into something else. Bring back the Flay, I have been searching for a very fine photograph I saw a few years ago of a Number 3 London Transport bus, lying, IIRC, upside down below a bridge at the top of College Road, Crystal Palace. The driver had somehow managed to plough straight through the parapet and somersault the bus onto its roof! IIRC the only reported injury was a broken leg. Can I find it? Can I Hell!

This picture here, by the way, depicts a scene from the opera "Orpheus Brynaticus", in which the hero is here seen entering the infernal regions.

The Emperor suspected they were right. But he dared not stop and so on he walked, more proudly than ever. And his courtiers behind him held high the train... that wasn't there at all.

You still haven't identified my current avatar, Richard.
It was, of course, in response to your own new avatar that I prompted to search of the Number 3 bus.

You still haven't identified I know. It isn't for want of trying though. Do we get a clue?

Well, I've saved it, zoomed it, coloured it, turned and twisted it and analysed it from all angles, Bryn, and all it looks like to me is either a very old armchair with two scruffy white cushions or some bits of paper at the top of a rather full wheelie bin. But then, what do I know?

You still haven't identified I know. It isn't for want of trying though. Do we get a clue? Damn it, Richard. I have given the biggest clue I can. It is in honour of a new contributor to the BBC's Radio 3 message boards. I really can't make it any plainer, especially as I have already stated that several guesses have been pretty close. Any way, although I have not yet found the picture I was looking for, here is a different, later photograph of the aftermath that I have managed to find. Apparently it was the driver's elbow that was broken, not his leg.
