That is my working hypothesis too, Mr S, but unfortunately I now have no way of establishing this one way or another. Michelangelo's statue of David is I suppose another possibility. We shall never know.

Michelangelo's statue of David is I suppose another possibility. Or perhaps they'd had a personal audience with Pope Benedict?

I just about managed to climb up there and kiss it but then had to come down backwards. (Heard this morning in Snorbens Market ) It wasn't, perchance, a midget billiards player? Tommo

When will people realise that when I ask them politely to turn off their music, it's not personal?

Dunno. How would you feel if one of them asked you to turn off your brain?

Sad email from Darren in Essex this morning: car will need extensive work to pass the MOT. - Steering: good
- Lights: good
- Brakes: good
- Windshield wipers: good
- Exhaust emissions: good
- Stereo: FAIL: sound output failed to reach 120Db with the windows open, no subwoofer installed.

My next door neighbour always said that there was no problem that couldn`t be solved by a couple of bloater paste sandwiches.
