It seems from inspection of this thread that I may have been implicated in the genesis of a monster....
That's so completely on-topic that you have now not only implicated yourself therein but presided over the said monster's demise.

I would have asked what you imagine Susan McClary might think, but your last post carries with it such an air of finality that I'll desist.

Best,

Alistair

Morning Alistair! You might have missed my earlier post here:

Isn't it about time that Alistair hop in and recommend we rename this the postmodernism thread?

Bonjour, incre! Out, c'est vrai. I did indeed miss that, so thank you for drawing it to my attention now. Anyway, though, it really is not for me, of all people, to recommend that any thread be renamed "the postmodernism thread", as I imagine you knew already. Let's see if anyone else wants to consider doing that...

Best,

Alistair

We regret we can as yet supply no definition of 'pre-archaism'. Thank you.

We as in the Grewesque "we"? Anyway, not to worry; Ian might be able to help us out with that.

What on/off topic thread ? I see only only a giant mutant hedgehog adorned with cheese and pineapple slices which assists me not one jot with my thesis on The Effect of Tinned Cling Peaches on the Economy of Greenland.

Forgive the on-topic reply, but I wish to state that reports of my extinction have been greatly exaggerated  Wink
