What is 'contrapuntal'?

it's the term to describe a man who always loses his dog in hyde park on wednesdays.

I wish this was true, but I fear it is actually an adjective describing drug smugglers on the Cam.

OK then Baz, where's my unattrib. quote from? Wink

I dunno! For all I know it could come from Against the Day by Thomas Pynchon, or somewhere else like that perhaps?

How did you know that? (he says, in the gently, wearily suspicious voice - sharp at first, startled, but too used to it for it to matter much any more - of a Pynchon character who's just spotted what looks like ... could it be ... how could it not be ... a [whispering now] conspiracy?).

Well the key lies here: "The opposite of a correct statement is a false statement. But the opposite of a profound truth may well be another profound truth."

I've just cut a branch off an Elderflower.

(Mort, when I looked at this site at lunchtime at work, your avatar was not there - probably something to do with the firewall or something techy like that!)
