Just in deference to those confused by the above postings, and perchance rusty in their remembrance of the Anglo-Saxon tongue, we would like to remind them that all the best stories and sagas once started with this interjection of the threefold purpose, simultaneously allowing the bard to clear his throat, call for silence and introduce the equivalent of 'Once upon a time' in a single efficient syllable.

Indeed!

And thanks to Ron for finding the proper combined 'AE' symbol which I was uncharacteristically lazy about inserting in my late-night exclamation.

I should be logging off, packing my bags in preparation for tomorrow's corporate high-jinks, doing the necessary preparation for the excitingly interactive sessions and getting an early night.
The work on this piece is proving provocatively tricky and I'd really like to sort this panel out before heading to bed but I don't know if that's going to happen...

I think I have discovered THE ANSWER to this panel now so I'm going to pack it all in, and my belongings in a bag, and my troubles, and I'll stop there.

Good night one and all. I suspect that my next login will be tomorrow night.

hmmmmm..... what is one supposed to wear to this kind of event?

PS Thanks, Ron. Ash on a young man's sleeve?

PPS The black trousers seem to look fine with the DJ. Thank you all for your concern. Smiley

Well wouldn't that be lovely? Aspiring hungry young academics all in evening dress discussing 'Expectations, anxieties and rewards of the academic role within HE'.
Srsly tho, do you think we're going to be dressing for dinner? (You know what I mean...) (I hope)

I'm not sure I do. But anyway, purely gratuitously but I can't imagine why anyone would complain:

(Hope Mrs John W doesn't see this one over her breakfast cereal. Wink)
