Is this a record? If it is, shouldn't you have posted in Now Spinning?

Ye gods! I've only done it again! Dropped asleep exhausted at 9 and now wide awake. Some people never learn do they? I know, I know...............if I had a brain I'd be dangerous. Never mind, Milly is feeling much better and there's a desk full of paperwork and filing to do, so better get on with it.

Sounds productive anyway, Milly!
My body clock's all out of kilter too. I fell asleep at not long after 10pm last night, which is VERY early by my standards, and come 4:30am I was wide awake. I've hung the washing on the airer (as I had a load on when I fell asleep) and loaded/started the dishwasher. I'm currently pondering whether to go for a swim before work - the gym opens at 6:30...

With those mega-power antibiotics, Mills, you are the site of an intergalactic battle between the Forces of Good and the Forces of Evil just at the moment. In the circs, I reckon a little nodding off earlier than usual can be forgiven and probably just what is needed.

Heed the Wisdom of George, Milly. Those heavy duty ABs can really knock a person for six. I'm not surprised that you are zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzing. It would probably be a good idea to back them up with some lacto-bacillus capsules to give the 'Good Guys' a hand.

Thank you George. There certainly seems to be a battle royal going on. I keep getting a raging temperature but then it subsides for a while. Anyway, I started to feel better for the first time in 8 weeks, in the night, so we're definitely on the way up. I'm on these antibiotics for a fortnight and I'm only on day 3! They must be good stuff. I'm going for a chest x-ray later this afternoon as well as GP wants to just check no damage done. Mort - I've doubled up on my usual dose of acidophilus and I've stocked up with probiotic natural yogurt and drinks. I'm also taking 1000 mgs of vitamin C, zinc and 30+strength Manuka honey. (It's only a very small jar but it cost £31.00!!!!! Nobody could say I'm not trying to get well!). Little 'un is going on a day trip to the zoo today with school, so I'll be able to have an old biddy nap this afternoon. Milly xxx

Nothing wrong with an 'old biddy' nap, Milly. It's become a rule with me that I try to go horizontal for at least 20 minutes every afternoon, close eyes, think of nothing. I very rarely go 'to sleep', but if you can at least get yourself into that half-asleep mode for a bit it makes a massive difference to the rest of the day. Those foreign johnnies with their siestas know what they're doing.

My grandfather apparently had a nap after lunch every day all his working life. And he went home for lunch as well. He was the boss of the building firm, so I suppose he could do so, but I can't see it being practical for those out to work nowadays.

That's true, Don, but at least if you have an office (like me) you can lock the door and pretend you're not in for 1/2 an hour.

About to head up the stairs to Bedfordshire You live on a (horizontal) county border? Night martle, O you whose new avatar looks like a dream-figment from three Birtwistle operas combined: Green Knight meets sacrificial bull in Minotaur's maze.
