Beautiful! I love the sight of cherry blossom (wouldn't mind a chance to work with the wood either, but cherry seems to be hard to come by),
I have a beautiful cherrywood Mollenhauer descant recorder, Kitty.

MJ

I suppose I should say something about how fortunate you are to have a beautiful instrument like that. Truth is I'm positively Martling with envy  Embarrassed
Oops I think there's no need for you to be green after all Kitty. I've found a picture of a mollenhauer recorder (though it's not the same design as mine) made of pear wood not cherry. Embarrassed

One of our apple trees; grown from a pip it bears beautiful blossom but only tiny inedible applets:

The poppies that I grew from seed finally started flowering about a month ago. Now they're almost all at it, though they look a bit sad amidst the remains of the rest of summer's flowers and the leaves of which I don't seem to be able to rid myself.

Ho!  For the first time in quite a few years, our garden is ready for the winter.  Beds have been turned; various shrubs removed; all pruning done; places ready and waiting for new arrivals expected in the next few weeks; grass cut; weeds eradicated and all garden waste and rubbish sorted for compost and tip.  A strange, and rare glow of satisfaction has seeped into the Soundwave frame bringing a look of idiocy to the dial - or so my wife tells me.
Cheers.

Hmmm. There is something seriously amiss out there. I have just been wrestling with an unruly buddleia (is there any other kind? Roll Eyes) and as I was happily stomping over the ground, I noticed that the grape hyacinths and alliums are coming up. And the Ceanothus is blooming again. Wrong wrong wrong!

Mort,

Didn't you know that the year has now been compressed into a fortnight?  We now have a cold patch for 7 days (winter), then a bit of sun for 7 days (summer).

This is as a direct result of an EU ruling that has highlighted we don't have enough working years in our lives to afford our retirements.  Sadly, in the usual non-joined up thinking type way, they haven't realised that I really am now over 1000 years old, when counted in 'new EU years', so I should have stopped working ages ago.

Cripes Tommo! If you are over 1000 years old, then that must make me ...

SOUND OF FRANTIC ABACUS ACTIVITY

Huh, well that can`t be right! Damn thing never worked properly anyway.

SOUND OF ABACUS BEING HURLED AGAINST A WALL, FOLLOWED BY A DOOR SLAMMING.

If the EU ruling applies retroactively, Tommo, that means your violin is 5902 years old.   Shocked

I suspect that's even more antique than Morticia!   Wink

I hope it wasn't an antique abacus that got hurled against the wall.  Quite likely, though, if "antique" continues to be defined as anything more than 100 years old...
