"Assisted by..." I like that Indeed! (Me too.) It's enough to make you go off and find out that assist = ad- + sistere (Lat. 'stand'). You do indeed learn something new every day. I can't quite remember what I learnt yesterday, but ... um, well ... I'm sure it's in there somewhere.

Well the French POST use assister to denote attendance at a concert rather than necessarily helping out in any way. Confusing for beginners.

Damn! POST I held off POSTing on this thread until I'd thought of something simultaneously amusing and POST-related to say ... And then George tempted me into forgetting which thread I was POSTing on.

Thanks, Daniel. <sarcastic smiley> I'm now having disturbing images of a post-coital Barbara. Lovely.

Thanks, Daniel. <sarcastic smiley> I'm now having disturbing images of a post-coital Barbara. Lovely. Most disturbing, tinners. Try focusing your mind on the image of demure, devout postulant nuns. I find it often helps.

Evan, you're a ninny for starting this thread. I am quite enjoying watching it develop. I imagine I can now identify completely with your experience of being a newly minted father.
