When in doubt, wash.

Some of you may have heard an item on R4 recently (I think it was PM) about child soldiers who've escaped their captors, found their way to Britain and are now being helped by the charity called the "Medical Foundation (for the Care of Victims of Torture)". I was surprised that there was no plea to listeners to help this charity as it is currently in financial crisis, with an ever increasing number of torture victims who desperately need their help but a huge shortfall in the necessary funding.

I've supported the Medical Foundation for many years now. I'm drawing your attention to this charity's website in the hope that some r3ok posters may now wish to visit it and then perhaps make a donation.

Thank you.

I appreciate r3ok allowing this thread, Ron. The Medical Foundation doesn't have the funds for widespread advertising and appeals so it's good to be able to make a few more people aware of its existence.

I've answered that without my mod hat on, MJ: it's not really my call to say yea or nay yet, but it's not exactly twisting peoples' arms: considering the help that the board gave me with my fund-raising earlier in the year, it would be churlish of me not to take notice of yours myself.
