A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM ME AS WELL!

(I was totally sober yesterday as well so apart from being tired and not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow, I feel fine!)

С Новым Годом!

Happy New Year from the Big Beetroot!  After a quick radio interview about "How Russians celebrate New Year", I spent most of New Year's Eve on a mammoth cooking excercise, all of which was then relocated by taxi to a very noisy party.  We finally staggered home at 09:30am,  after which I took to my bed until late afternoon today  Wink  We even sang The Field-Mice Carol again, which has become our party-piece.

Wishing everyone here a splendidly successful Year Of The Rat, that brings your dreams to reality, a year that's full of joy and happiness, and in which your sheep fatten roundly  Smiley

Hi Reiner,
Happy New Year. I still have one more party to go to today, though I am still not completely well.
Where did you get this New Year song? I don't know it, but composer and poet were known in my time.

Just a quick drop by on what in Scotland is the second official public holiday of the New Year: we're no way near halfway through the round of family visits yet, and no doubt we'll be off with first footing presents again as soon as everyone has surfaced, which since things were still going strong at way past 2 a.m, might not be quite yet.....

(A quick reminder to Reiner that since the Chinese New Year is tied to lunar cycles, the Year of the Rat will not begin until the seventh of February.)
