Drink more coffee.

Unlike the article, I don't equate this with "doing overtime at Starbucks."  Angry

No, you can also DIY, especially if your father owns the appropriate machinery...

Last year I made four NYRs (I remember this due to monitoring progress against them in my signature on another forum) and all were achievable.

I kept one.  Well, two, sort of.  I got to know my neighbours - that was number 4 - and as for number 3, although I didn't start overpaying my mortgage, that's only because I fixed my rate before interest rates started rising, so the net rate I was getting on cash savings was (and still is) outstripping the gain I'd have made by overpaying.

The other two were closely linked: lose the flab round my middle, and walk to work in the mornings.  Ahem.

Oft hat ein Seufzer, deiner Harf' entflossen,
Ein süßer, heiliger Akkord von dir
Den Himmel beßrer Zeiten mir erschlossen,
Du holde Kunst, ich danke dir dafür!

You might be in luck this year, Ruth - "lose weight, drink less alcohol, waste less money" sounds like three in one to me (he says, having no chance of doing any of them this year...).

That reminds me of those pages in instrumental parts where they haven't put any notes on them to make page-turns easier down the track. But so the player doesn't panic they print 'this page has been left blank'. I always have to fight the urge to write underneath 'no it hasn't'.

Ah, glad I'm not the only one...

I suppose another resolution I've gradually been making over the past year is to write less in my music.

Well, aside from the reckless commitment around repertoire I made on the hopes and resolutions thread, I will also...

Use the car less to get to the station - either cycling or walking.

Get fitter

Write 3 short stories, or a similar amount of a bigger novel.

Lose my temper less.

My resolutions are:

1) To stop worrying that my soon-to-be-ex-husband is going to succeed in killing himself. If he does, he does. My worrying won't help one way or the other.Just think how much energy I will save! *

2) I plan to drink less alcohol....hic!

 * (ps I am bit worried about him, as I dont know where he is at the moment, and haven't heard anything for almost a week....)

Oh bum, bum, bummy, bum. One of my resolutions was always to be in bed before midnight.

Good night all.

I thought that a New Year Resolution was a cadence in an opera by Tippett until I discovered - oh, never mind...

Best,
