I notice no-one has mentioned that old chestnut of New Year Resolutions.  Well, sitting here, surveying the scene, my Resolution is to be more tidy.

There are cds littering the floor and the blanket box so to sort and catalogue them is another resolution.  In other words, I must become more organised!!

Anyone else got any?

(And when I say 'tidy' I am not referring to the Welsh meaning of tidy of course)   Cheesy

Since the breaking of New Year Resolutions is a well established tradition, I resolve to become less organized in my lifestyle. Wink

I have only one New Year Resolution - not to make any Grin  It saves the guilt, gloom and lemon sucking that accompany the failure to keep the damn things!  Mind you,  I might have a stab at domestic organisation. Again Roll Eyes Grin

I resolve to :-

1.  Practise my piano much more frequently
2.  Be more tolerant with people (oooh I'm an impatient so-and-so - but only the general public. With children I am a saint.)
3.   Sort out my wardrobe (Mort - I didn't do it the other night as discussed on the phone, but it really needs doing, being full of stuff I haven't worn for years and probably never will.  Roll Eyes)
4.   Keep on top of my post/bills/filing and go down the stack of filing that I've just bunged into the filing cabinet under "pending".

I think that's enough don't you?  The chances of my getting anywhere with 2. are inifinitesimal, especially when I've been hanging on phone lines waiting for someone to speak to... Angry  Grrrrrrrrrrr

Mine are boring and all to do with Studying and My Career.  To most this will be jibberish, but..

1. Finish my MCSE
2. Become a VCP
3. Upgrade to Server 2008 Quals.

Then the normal.

4. Lose some weight and exercise more.
5. Spend more time enjoying myself and not work so hard.

You've got one too many vowels in "infinitesimal" as well, MJ Grin Wink

I am giving up making New Year Resolutions.  That's my New Year Resolution.  Is that concept logically possible?

I also need to become more organised, and sort out my wardrobe. Both are very difficult for me. Yesterday I tried to throw out a summer skirt I haven't worn for five years, and then I thought "No, it's too pretty" - so it's still there.

My mind is reasonably organised, I think - it's just things that defeat me.

No more alcohol. I am resolving on the tonic.

Apart from that, all the usual unfulfilled ones left over from previous years  Sad

Snap, Mary!

There's no point in making a NYR to declutter my flat, as I make that resolution on a weekly basis and it doesn't work.

I also have general intentions in the usual areas - lose weight, drink less alcohol, waste less money - but I wouldn't call them resolutions.

That reminds me of those pages in instrumental parts where they haven't put any notes on them to make page-turns easier down the track. But so the player doesn't panic they print 'this page has been left blank'. I always have to fight the urge to write underneath 'no it hasn't'.

I'm afraid I have only made one NYR and that is likewise to make no others... boring old me.

Well, I should probably buy fewer instruments and practise the ones I have. Is that two NYRs or one?

Drink more coffee.

Unlike the article, I don't equate this with "doing overtime at Starbucks."  Angry

I quite like NY resolutions; I'm  sucker for marking the passage of time with little rituals. This year I'm going to join my local library.
