At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)

For every fatal shooting, there were roughly three nonfatal shootings. And, folks, this is unacceptable in America. It's just unacceptable. And we're going to do something about it.

That's George Washington, the first president, of course. The interesting thing about him is that I read three - three or four books about him last year. Isn't that interesting?

Back in 2001, I was working in the Windsor area-OK, I was Phil the Greeks' stand-in-and I found myself being stared at blankly by Dubya as he sat in an open coach with Thebo Mseki and the Queen Mum. He clearly didn't know where he was, as in Dyslexia/ Dysphasia, combined of course with hubris elephantiasis.
