Baz,

You have done an Anty!  I was thinking about doing the Drigo as a snatch, but sadly puzzle 29 is not it.

So, Puzzle 29 reaches 5 days at 6.15pm Tomorrow (Wednesday).  I'm not likely to make many posts tomorrow, so I'll give a healthy clue now.

Ancient Sieczynski Song's City by Deity after the piste, we hear?

(3,4 - Cool

HERE and HERE may be found Puzzle 45; this time it is orchestral, and  - unlike may we say a good many of the recent puzzles - is very much standard repertoire. There must be a Member or two who will get it in a trice. But how strangely sluggish are not Colin Davis and the L.S.O. here?

And we for one eagerly anticipate the unveiling early to-morrow of the pseudo-Paganini!

Godowsky, yes.  Vienna City of My Dreams, No.

And you are close.

3,4 - 8

sorry about the Cool earlier, that's what happens when you put an 8 and a ) too close together.

45 - Dvorak 8 is not it?

Indeed most sluggish.

45 is Dvorak's 8th symphony. (apologies...didn't see ah's response)

Indeed most sluggish.

Mr. Autoharp has got it in three minutes, which must be some kind of record for speediness. 197 points to him, so now we have to put together another puzzle.

That Dvorak comes from a concert broadcast, not a commercial recording.

Close enough for 100 points to Mr Dough.

Alt Wien by Godowsky.  In Snatch 29 it was in fact in the original piano alone version.

There is a lot to be said for such brief works in today's busy times.  They somewhat grab one's attention and cause reflection for a while, do they not?

Anyroad up, let's see your celebration then Mr. Dough...

Guess time....

Puzzle 25 - an obscure bit of the Waxman Carmen Fantasy that I have forgotten.

(It's the 20 recordings that gets me....)

HERE and HERE is Puzzle 46.

We have heeded Mr. Grew's hint to include a more 'standard repertoire' snatch although his own standing as it did for only 3 minutes before solution did not serve him well!

Thank you Mr. Macrae - we have an idea about 46 but have to do some research . . .

In the mean time HERE or HERE is a grand old lady who becomes only more beautiful with every year that passes!
