Back to normal for the time of year up here.  Had some heavy rain in the night and now it's blowing a gale and freezing cold.   I find it strangely reassuring that it's wintry weather.  The global warming concept worries me greatly.  Sad

Gale force winds here and rain.  Grey and bleak outlook and it seems to be set in for the day if the weather forecast is to be believed.  Lovely weather to exercise dogs.  Roll Eyes

And according to several models will cool you down somewhat, too, Mills: should it cause the Gulf Stream to shift its course as predicted, Britain stands to end up rather colder during the winter.

A reminder of how cold it's been this week - in Brum at least. This was shot mid-afternoon on Monday.

It's a bit blowy tonight! I think a bit of my upstairs neighbour's flat may have just fallen off. Shocked

I was just about to post about how windy it is tonight opi, but you've beaten me to it. I've been looking outside anxiously. The bench in my garden, which I thought might have been tipped over by the earthquake (which didn't happen here) but decided must have been knocked over by the wind, is on its side again. Other things are rattling around outside.

When in doubt, wash.

I've got my fingers crossed my tulip tree doesn't shed any more branches - it hates gales. There's often been a branch lying on the lawn after a particularly ferocious gust. Cry

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

It sounds 'orrible out there. Rain beating against the windows and the wind's howling.

Huge gusts of wind here.  The last one shook the house!  Pouring with rain and sand and a howling gale.  Sad

This seems a bit like tempting fate -- a Humberside Fireside service spokesman is reported to have said: "Since last summer we've had to deal with floods, an earthquake and now gales. The only thing we haven't had is a heatwave."

Full story here.

No heatwave here as yet.  Howling gale, freezing cold and snow forecast for everywhere except here (because we rarely get it). Arctic gear resurfacing to take the dog out in.  Roll Eyes

We had a very violent hailstorm mid-afternoon which left everything white.  It's dark now but the clouds have been building up rapidly in fantastic formations (at one stage it looked like a giant black eagle was homing in to land) and they were looking very threatening.  One of those moments you wish you had a camera to hand.  Very chilly as well so a giant King Edward is a-baking merrily away.

Bad hailstorm here too, though short, and very heavy rain a few minutes ago, but again not for long. During daylight it was sunny, but very cold again.
