The 'Strad' I've borrowed for practice (Violin and Viola thread) has a neat printed label inside

read it,or most of it, at the weekend, i never knew that violin in oxford was such a famous violin

Yes, I always feel it a shame that the Oxford violin, or any violin in a show case isn't played! The RAM museum at York Gate has lots of beautiful violins and keyboards, the violins are certainly regularly played apparently so that is pleasing!!
