Indeed.  Another week of disturbed sleep as the cat thinks its time to get up when it isn't (actually, i think that's the wrong way around - still, have a laugh at my expense, I don't mind)!

Yup. Clocks FORWARD.
(Spring forward, fall back.)

That's how I remember it too. But ... but ... but ... how often when you have fallen over have you actually fallen over backwards rather than forwards? Honestly, now.

And on the rare occasions when you have sprung has it been backwards in alarm or forwards in excitement?

Exactly!

I rest my case.

Although I can't now remember what it was going to be.

I'll be boring and say that 'Fall back' refers to American Autumn. There I've said it.

For the last few weeks one of my beasts has decided that 5 a.m. is a perfectly acceptable time to wake up and demand breakfast (probably because it's almost daylight then). Hot words have been exchanged and feline terrorist tactics deployed, usually involving hurling objects to the floor, preferably breakable ones. Him, not me Roll Eyes I suppose this means more hot words at 4 o'clock tomorrow morning Huh Sigh.

You're right, Martle. I'm sure I've sprung back as many times as I've fallen forwards Grin Right, off to get the candles going and disappear from cyberspace for an hour.

I've been persuaded to sing in the cathedral tomorrow...
That means getting up in 10 hours time.
I really wanted to spend the morning composing.

Ooops, I read that as "For the last few weeks one of my breasts has decided that 5 a.m. is a perfectly acceptable time to wake up and demand breakfast"

I was confused I must admit! Embarrassed

I hate all this messing about with clocks. I get confused about whether it's earlier or later than it really is, if you get my drift. I think tomorrow it will be later.

In the autumn the nights will be darker, poo, but for mild compensation you get one hour longer in bed for one day.

In the spring you have one hour less in bed for one night, but, bliss, night doesn't fall unitl 8pm.

For a few weeks it is a bit darker in the mornings, but a small price to pay.

I can cope with cold.  Dark is almost inevitably depressing.

My partner (and I'm sorry if that sounds coy - what should I call him?) began changing clocks from 6 this evening, so we would be in the mood.

You could call him by his name... or make one up...

Make one up that you think suits him.

Now, I usually get this time thing wrong but surely, if we're putting our clocks forward, your cat will be waking you at 6 o'clock now instead if 5? Unless he puts his little furry bodyclock forward one hour too...

Don, just refer to your partner as 'Bartolo'. We'll know what you mean.  Smiley
