I was sick last week, and didn't do a bit of exercise.  Felt pretty guilty, so I punished myself today and doubled my run.  It actually turned out to be much easier to do than to decide to do (only pain was in my knees).  It shall become my regular running distance for the time-being, I think.  I only need to double up once more and I'll be close to marathon-length. Wheeee.

I prefer high-speed walking myself, particularly down Exhibition Road after Proms. There has hardly been a commuter that I haven't been able to pass, sooner or later. vroom.

My cycling routine has been brought to a halt by torrential rain - today's the fourth day waking up to thunderstorms.  It's not that I'm worried about getting wet (although I can't say I especially enjoy that...),  more the added danger on the roads when motorists get slapdash in bad weather.

I usually try and do at least a mile a day walking, or more. Being rather sedantry at the moment. I like to walk to my wife's work place when she finishes for the day and take the car with her after Huh Grin

I do 10,000 steps most days and that's just around the house, shopping and dogwalking.  It's about 5 miles altogether and I'm afraid that's as much as I can manage these days.  Sad  When I think of how active I used to be only a few years ago.  Taking on a baby/young child when my own two had grown up, has taken more out of me than I usually like to admit. Plus, now of course I'm doing it all on my own just like a single-parent family.  I wouldn't be without him for the world, but I wish I was fitter.

I had to wear a pedometer for a week recently as part of a clinical trial. It happened to be the week I was submitting my PhD - on one day I clocked up 17,000 steps charging round, about and between Senate House and the British Library.  Shocked Keeps you fit all this studying!

I've been looking for something to blow money on all week (a gadget or whatever), when I realized today that I could easily spend two-hundred quid, maybe a little more, doing the whole silly nike+/ipod nano wassit.  And why not.  Bought a fancy new pair of runners anyway (as much as I am uncomfortable with purchasing Nike products, there's little other choice about).
