I heard it from beginning to end, and it seemed to be scraping the barrel - to "prove" that Geneva has played a major place in European culture?

Although he has such a baleful (although now frequently unrecognised influence) on English speaking culture, it is usually ignore that Jean Calvin (pronounced a la francaise) was very, very French, particularly in that odd combination of logic and passion with no Anglo Saxon irony.  Except he appears to have had no interest in decent food.  Born at Noyon in Picardie.

Did the programme mention Karl Barth, Mozart lover extraordinaire?
