I'm puzzled.
Is there such a thing as too much choice, or should it make me happy?

It's all very strange. One of the posters on here said he emailed Michael who owns this board to ask what was happening and he received the reply "I've had enough, sorry it didn't work out." Speaking of too much choice, we now have FOUR boards if you also count this one.... http://www.for3.org/forums/index.php. Well there must be something for everyone really!

OK - here was my day: Logged on 8.30 this morning to find sparks still in the grate and flying up the chimney. Made a couple of posts, I think, went off, did some stuff, came back at 9.30 R3OK CLOSED TIL FURTHER NOTICE Refreshed a couple of times before leaving the house and spent the rest of the day in a state of heightened anxiety about the future of the MB... Logged on again at 9.30 this evening to find it all up and running as it used to (some regrettable absences, but a generally "business as usual" feel.) I think relief rather than happiness describes my feelings more accurately.

That's the funniest thing of the recent events! The poster has now just realised that that message is what his e-mail provider sends him when an e-mail can't be delivered He had replied to a moderation message which isn't replyable-to John W

Oh bravo, A ! Gold stars. I doffs me bonnet to yer, me lady! I tremble at the mere mention of the word dentist. Varmints.
If your dentist was as adorable as mine, Mort... Oh I had a stunning fellow last October. Oh yes. STUNNING. Sends a shiver down my spine recalling him again just now. (And I'm not happy now. I'm going to give this situation with R3OK/M&S a long hard think tomorrow).

Ah, but was he a dentist? Final year undergraduate he was. Slender, but well-knit, as they say.

You're lying flat in the chair, you cannot move, a soothing voice is over you, gentle but firm hands probing you, it may hurt, you are anxious, you know it is all for your good...
I don't know why people bother with sex, frankly.

Despite dodgy internet connections, a dodgy Royal Opera House website which wouldn't let me see any of the supposedly "available" performances after 45 minutes in the online queue, multiple attempts to get anything other than an engaged tone on the telephone booking line, and 20 minutes on hold, I have finally... ...FINALLY!... ...succeeded in getting two of the very few available tickets for A Midsummer Night's Dream next February at the Linbury. HURRAH! I've also been online elsewhere and booked all the things I was talking about the other day on the Waffle thread. Double HURRAH!!! Also very happy after my evening with Dmitri Hvorostovsky. Who needs dentists?

That sounds like a good morning's work, Ruth . I expect reviews of everything, or at least some comments! I decided against trying for MSND tickets - it's an expensive long trip for me - but I'm hoping to go to the Opera North production next summer. I only hope the production isn't too silly.

Is it a revival, Mary? My mum saw the Opera North production when it last toured (being still within reach of Newcastle Theatre Royal at the time) and loved it - though I'm not sure how reliable a judgement that is. Mum generally has good taste in theatrical productions, but she is mad about Midsummer Night's Dream and loves the music so much that I suspect she wouldn't notice if it was set in an Afghan wasteland
