I know we're getting the tail-end of whatever you're getting at the moment Reiner, due to the Scandinavian high, but it was still pretty cold here for mid December. The frost barely thawed, even in mid-afternoon.

I was leaving London just yesterday morning, Andy - it was definitely pretty frosty in W London as I trudged to West Ealing station at 6am Smiley

How cold is it there now, Reiner? The last time I saw forecast it was only -3 (day time).
But the atmosphere otherwise is probably good. I am amazed at the elections there. People don't care for their political freedoms and want stability and order. People tell me that their previous president did not have backing from any powerful organization (army or police) and completely lost control over criminals. Now there is more order and one doesn't bribe as much.
However, may be you are around more liberal people.

On recommendation from you fine people on here, I've now downloaded "The Onion" newspaper on to my homepage.  It's brilliant!  Grin

Hooray, I am back in the cyber world!  The wretched Virgin network went down the tubes yesterday evening and has only just come back on.  Given my L plate skills as far as computers go Embarrassed I thought that I was doing something wrong, but I wasn`t !  The Virgin help line response was to hide behind the sofa and not answer the `phone. Really impressive chaps! <custard pie throwing emoticon>

So, a happy Mort

Now,now, Morticia, we can't have this. I too use Virgin Media and though it did indeed fall over last night, for me at least it was up and running again by crack of dawn, but just take a look at this lot!

I would add that they have removed the report of the national failure which commenced late yesterday evening. What a mess!

Ah, here's the report of the now resolved national outage.
