marvleflugal,
I thought you had problems with your instument. Did you fix it? I could not understand your message, but I am used to that.

I think you had really good time during Holidays. It is quiet here with us, but friends from Greece are here and we should have a few parties.

nice to see youre still around t-p. Acoustically speaking a dongle is pitched somewhere between a swanee whistle and a glass harmonica-leading practicioners having included (I fear) david stone, spofforth heckmondwike and edrich 'i voz only obeyink orders' siebert.A 'dongle' electronicallyis an extra bit for a computer-this one is for the net so I can log in regularly-yesterday very helpful net cafe guy-total contrast to usual jobsworths in these places-told me the bits I needed and a place down the road that stocks them. I am eventually going to compose on a laptop, so in a way it is my instrument-in-waiting. I went to Dorset and a particular little stone-floored pub with a brilliant live music policy-despite this they let me in, but its safe from the fury of Igor and his electric accordion. An early happy new year to all as I prepare to escape the office before the cloven-hooved take over the free charabancs.

Hooray! They've all gone home! It was great fun and lovely to have them but now that peace and quiet has descended, that's great too.  Just the small matter of clearing up now.   Sad  Thank heavens for dishwashers.  I thought I may have over-catered but amazingly there's very little left.

The temperature has dropped here so maybe we're in for a nice, crisp, frosty New Year's Day.

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

Watching The Life of Brian seemed like a good option tonight. As before, I found myself giggling and snorting in a very juvenile fashion, but what the hell?  it made me laugh Grin

Me too - it still works after all these years, and so many viewings. The centurion correcting Brian's Latin gets me every time  Grin Grin

At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)

Been out for a nice curry tonight. Balti chana. The place was almost empty when we got there just after 7 but it was filling up when we left. Back home now so I'm settling down into Mr Grumpy mode ready for all the bloody fireworks at midnight, 1am, 2am,....

Been listening to one of the great albums of all time IMO: Miles Davis' Bitches Brew.

News Quiz of the Year on now.

Andy, consider yourself fortunate you don`t live in my neck of the woods. The fireworks have been going off all evening!

I'm sipping a Highland Park after eating a haggis omelette.
I'll enjoy the fireworks in relative peace since I can see large areas of London from my top floor windows,

anyway, this is the year i really try to be happy for the sake of my family.
not going to be an instantaneous thing i know, so, apart from music, what makes you 'happy'? what puts you in that place?
happy new year you lot!
