HOT NEWS! My trusty ticker tape machine informs me that MabelJane would like people to know that the house move was successful, the cats are happy in their new abode (well, she'd have to move again if they weren't, wouldn't she?  Cheesy) and so is she. She's still off line at the mo but she will be back.

Super news, Mort. It'll be good to have MJ back again soon.

FINISHED!

Last double bar put at the end of part III. of the solo horn piece. Which is just as well, because the festival starts tomorrow night and the horn piece is being premièred a week on Sunday... (don't worry - the player's got the rest of the piece (and has had most of it for some time) and there's nothing new (pitch-wise) in the final section; it's just a repeat (four times) of part I with more and more being erased each time it's repeated).

The slightly annoying thing is that a couple of nights ago, I had basically written the entire of the third section with the intention of changing the pitches around later. I've been tinkering with it for the last two days (energy permitting) and come up with at least three different alternatives before realising that what I actually want is what I wrote first. Without that experience I know that I wouldn't have made the decision I have, so it's worth it, albeit slightly annoying!

Oh I hope so.
Tomorrow's agenda includes going to the doctor, finding a student guitarist for next week's concert, starting to put my ensemble piece into the computer and being on hand in case I'm needed for tomorrow night's concert (and if I find time/energy, I've got a large cheque to cash in at my bank).

I'm feeling a lot better psychologically tonight, so hopefully that's a symptom that things are on the mend.

I've just had a phone call from my elder son to say he has just exchanged contracts on (is that the word?) his new house. It's such a relief. It's been a very, very complicated purchase, with all kinds of hiccups. The last hurdle was whether his Russian buyer (cash!!!) would get the money safely from Daddy in Russia, but she seems to have done that now.

This is not the son who's expecting  - well, you know what I mean - the baby. He's wondering whether he will still have a job. He works for a company connected to HBOS. Sorry, that's not Happy Room stuff.

Is what the word? 'On'? I believe it is!

Congratulations to Mary's non-expectant son. Smiley Quand est-ce qu'on prend le crémaillère?

The slighest hint of a party and tinners is up for it!  Cheesy

Well done to your son Mary, the property side of our business is really fraught at the moment with people pulling out at the last minute.  Fingers crossed for your other son and the HBoS scenario.

And commiserations to BBM for the loss of his job.

That's really nice Lord B, that you seem to have found love with your lady.  Long may it last.
