This is part of a response to the 'What Don Basilio did'-thread: see here.












This is very typical of Flanders.  Ashes from the stove dumped in dirt roads between fields.  Notice the cotton bud.


Also very typical of Flanders.  A football field in the middle of the fields, with an old bath tub as a drinking-trough for the cattle.






Another bath tub.

Thank you for posting these, Mr Y.  As I've mentioned on the boards before, I commute to Brussels on a pretty regular basis - two or three times a month (and I've been over there today, as it happens) - but I never get the chance to see Flanders beyond Brussels, or what I see from the train.
