Ho MorticiaaaAAA!  Sorry to hear of your CS problems.  I refer to them as Civil Serpents - even though some of them, a few, are very helpful.  How about "an obstruction of Civil Servants"?
Cheers (S'wave minus Malt - aaaaarrrghhh)

I'm in Antwerp, m'lady.

What is all this talk about idiot civil servants? I only know one, admittedly, but he seems almost superhumanly intelligent. Maybe he stole the brains of all the others..........

Ah Richard,

`Now you know who pulled the strings for Mort.....`

Settle down boys, settle down. Grin

Hmmm, I`ve not worked out the quoting of two posts. Rats!

OK, a little grump... just to change the subject slightly...

My feller enjoys a grump, for example - the train is late - grump
the train is early - grump ( may have missed it)
the train is on time -grump.. (why wasn't it on time yesterday?)

It occurs to me that he is happy when he has something to grump about... is this normal ? !!!

Just one query Mort...

When someone is only really HAPPY when GRUMPING, which thread should that person post on - the Grumpy Old Rant Room or the Happy Room.

(Do you see my difficulty?)

My dear Baz,

I do see your dilemma.  Possibly you might care to visit the Grumpy Room first, then briefly adjourn to the Happy Room  to appraise us of your happiness,  before returnng to the Grumpy Room. You might need to have a brief rest inbetween all this to-ing and fro-ing. Can make a chap a tad dizzy. In which case I recommend The Pub  Grin Grin

With all best hopes for the speedy resolution of this perplexing problem.

A crassness? An abomination?

If I may respectfully submit? an obfuscation of civil servants (or swivel servants).

Excellent suggestions, chaps. Let`s not forget S`wave and `an obstruction` of civil servants. Comes dangerously near to the truth.  Whoops, watch the blood pressure Mort!

Should we maybe have different collective nouns depending on the seniority of the civil servants? So that Whitehall ones are different from those who work in the Job Centre?
