Should we maybe have different collective nouns depending on the seniority of the civil servants? So that Whitehall ones are different from those who work in the Job Centre?

Ah. So a scale of derogation, Ian? Ok, you do Job Centres Kiss

Sivil servants will be absolete. Get used to deal with robots (see robot on the other thread).
They will be faultless, very friendly and easy to operate (before going belly up in smoke or between something goes wrong with the disk inside).

I am worried if robots will be reliable. What will the robot say to you: I don't know you, go away (that is if he doesn't recognize you).
Again, bad people may try to steal the robot or program him to kill you.

What should we all do now?

This is a relief to know. Amazing that Azimov knew everything back in 1940s.
However, computers sometimes don't work, or net is slow (like now) or there is some glitch in a program or something else.
I am in a grumpy room and something can always go wrong.

But I am greatly relieved to know that robots are such a nice creatures. Thank you Richard.

Also I can not see pictures sometimes (Morticiaa's avatar is not visible sometimes and Bryn's message on the other thread has no picture on my computer). Will robots be reliable. Should we start worrying now.

Never fear, t-p. As soon as no one's nagging me and I have nothing more urgent to worry about I'll start grumping about robots.

Rule 1 always looks as if it has one of them there inner contradictions in it. A robot worth it's salt might reject it as an 'ill formed formula' and therefore inoperable: 'What do you want me to do when the only way to stop human beings being genocidal to each other is to use force against them?'

Er, or perhaps that is the very issue that Asimov's story deals with. I've never actually read it <embarrassed blush>.

thank you Ollie, you are good to have around.
I think I found a related soul in George. I always think that it is good to worry even if there is nothing to worry about at the moment.
Things always can go wrong and one should try to predict what will go wrong.

I also like martle confident message about attack that is planned by the army. Now only everyone should look surprized. I like this secrets. Everybody tell each other secrets, so all know about them, but you never know who knows and who does not. May be some people will miss a message or two.

I do want to continue on the subject of worrying. I am worried sometimes if I am not worried. Should I start worrying about something now?
Some people have a head on their shoulders and they know when to worry and when not to worry. Not me.
I think one should worry. A good measure of worry everyday does wonders for your health.

I worry that I did something wrong, or if I said something I should not or my grammar was bad and I said something I did not mean (that happens sometims even if people speak their own language).

Today I feel on the row with my spelling and posting is doing well (fast). So should I worry? I am sure there is something to be afraid of.

One can be afraid of grumpy men and nagging women (and vice versa), or UFO. Yes, I forgot the exam is coming.
Grump, grump, grump.

I suspect my learned colleague will find on further investigation that that would, strictly speaking, come under the purview of the Zeroth Law.  Smiley

t-p, maybe you could worry about how much you post here?

Milestone: t-p exceeds 2000 postings. So, worry or be happy?
