A, your avatar is smashing.
I had a pleasant evening that would be not as exciting as yours.

Whose 25 years of work were celebrated? It is not yours or anybody we know here? It is a great occasion for celetration. Anybody who did it for this many years must be very good at what he/she does.

For my part as the band was from Norway we gave the band director some money and now hope they can send it to us, but who knows.
Meanwhile I am discovering York Bowen. Today we played (sight read) two pieces (Barcarolle and Humoresque). They are lovely pieces. We did sight read parts of the sonata. Sonata is difficult, but I think we can learn it over time.

Oh, lovely! I do hope it goes well for you.  I deposited a lot of york bowen music on the computer of a friend of mine in oxford (whose surname is also oxford bowen (don't know how I made that slip...)) over the weekend; given that he has an appreciation for Rachmaninov, I hope he'll enjoy the Bowen as well : )

York Bowen wrote beautiful music which has Rachmaninoff and French influences. I think your friend is going to like him and with time love his music.

Today we played Barcarolle and humoresque and they were very nice pieces. Sonata is a formitable task to undertake and will take time.

Fag ends are now less common on pavements than blobs of chewing gum.  I get very sad at the muck city dwellers and workers make for themselves.....

If present trends continue, by the year 2036 every square inch of every city in the world is going to be paved with flattened and hardened chewing gum.

Presumably  being deposits of Nicorette chewing gum left by smokers trying to kick the habit. Then we can be blamed  again for continuing to pollute the planet ...... Angry

Ho dear Morticiaaa.  I do hope that you are now fully recovered and winding up your imagination to full strength.  I don't think I could find it in my heart to blame you for polluting - certainly not until such time as "dog" pollution is eradicated.  The idea of sidewalks of Nicorette and Dog is rather weird.  Hm! I think I'll retire with an umbrella to the Lesbian Raspberry Canes with a quick snifter and contemplate my navel for a touch of inspiration.
Cheers and hugs

Mort!!!

Are you feeling better?

And, can you (or anyone else) explain to me why your number of posts is 'leet'? Or have my eyes gone funny at this time on a Thursday evening?

Yours confusedly
tinners

PS Are you going to make it to Croydon 2moro? I haven't posted you anything because I finally got round to digging it out of the cupboard today and then someone told me there's a postal strike tomorrow Huh

Oh, that is quite curious indeed; even on the members' stats page.

Just a niggly little grump but it does keep hitting me in the eye.  I wish they'd spell "sponsored" correctly at the top of the page where it says "sponsered links".

I know, I know, not important.

I'll shut up now then.

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.
