I have said, several times now, that my objection to the work of this amazing, lovely new composer is that what he is suggesting is NOT

a) music
b) original

I can say little more than that unless I repeat myself.... again.

I can find no way of saying that collecting a bus ticket ( on my own , not even with the composer) or a tesco receipt or whatever else he wants the performing clowns to do is either MUSIC or even an ARTISTIC experience.

I have had enough of been slagged off, I have had enough of being told I have to be nice to someone because they are new..?
I have had enough of having to say someone is a composer when in fact they are just a dustbin for old bus tickets  I thought this was a place for all sorts of opinions to be thrown about and discussed. I find that everyone else seems to see this as an amazingly exciting experience musically. Well as I run for the train at 7.00 tomorrow I will think on it...

I have had enough of everyone thinking that Baz and I sit here thinking and writing the same thing,    

I have ....... had enough.

It doesn't take a "mid-life crisis" (which some of us navigated years ago!) to ask two simple questions of a composer who invites our participation: a) why are we participating, and b) what will our participation lead to.

But it seems to have taken a very real mid-life crisis for some people to rebuke us for being somehow naive enough to posit these questions.

Now, Baz, that's an impolite answer to a polite request. We have given you an area to continue what to most posters here is a very tedious personal spat which they would much rather not have splashed all over other threads. I'll ask all those who wish to continue this to adjourn there. I really don't want to have to start splitting your posts from this thread too, but if needs must, I will. In the same way that you expect me to deal with matters which you consider against the spirit of the board, I must respect others' requests too.
