I also once left an unfinished manuscript on a tube ... of dentifrice.

Are you sure you didn't leave the tube on the unfinished manuscript?

Quote

"I am serious about making London safer, protecting our green spaces and giving the taxpayer value for money - and I have the ideas to do it."

Doesn't it make you feel sick - especially coming from someone who can't even organize his hair properly, never mind the complexities of a place like London!

Big oops today.  Got a box from amazon today, out of which popped two books:

and

All my fault.  I figure I'll find someone to offload it to rather than pay for the return postage (to America).

(I did, jack time, also purchase that mbira book as well, which arrived last week and is currently unread)

This really belongs on the Happy Room thread, since grandbaby number three arrived at 6.15pm local time, but since the answering machine message from daughter number two babysitting the older children ended with "no-one's picking up, so **** y'all", it's going in here.

(rhymes with truck)

When I finally called back (after dealing with a flooded basement) and suggested that the greeting wasn't entirely appropriate, she hung up before I could say anything else, then called back to speak to (her) Mom and advise her to strangle me tonight.

I get this sort of thing fairly often, but it never gets any easier.  Cry And this is after four years of (her) counselling.

No, I'm not a complete idiot. I'm only a halfwit. In fact I'm actually a catfish.

Kitty, sorry to hear that good news was soured by thoughtless words Sad But congrats on grandbaby number 3! Smiley Pink or blue? They'll be lucky to have such a creative catfish for a grandma!

Indeed Kitty. Congrats from me. Ive 17 grand vhildren but as their parents dont talk to us, well we just let them get on with it. their stupdity, etc.

Me and the wife, ofcourse miss the grandchildren, but if the children behave like that, well, let them get on with it. Actually on the otherside of the coin, its blissfully peace and quiet!!!

Thank you BBM and Mort for your congratulations (and GG who very thoughtfully posted the relevant bit to the Happy Room). Grandling no.3 is pink, not that I set much store by colour-coding them.

I've read somewhere that in Victorian times the colours were opposite to now - boys were put in pink, considered a very manly colour, and girls in blue.

Congratulations, Kitty.

Congratulations indeed Kitty, especially for having a pink one. That is very clever!  I only have blue ones.  Smiley

Why do so many male City types wear pink shirts nowadays?

Congrats, Kitty!
