I also had a bad episode in IKEA in Canada. We tried to buy dinning table. It was difficult to assemble because it did not have some bolts and other parts. After driving back and forth with that table we returned the item.

We never tried to buy anything in IKEA ever since.

In attaching printer today after reading the instruction I was very critical and said it was written by some foreigners like myself.
To which my  (I should say our) friend told me: It is very difficult to write an instruction that everybody would find good and useful.

I think that the instruction means that you should install the software before you attach the printer, which will stop Windows from trying to do anything 'intelligent' like installing drivers older than those provided with the printer.
I've seen these instructions on a lot of electrical things. It's not a safety instruction, it's just the first stage of the installation process.
Slap me if I'm wrong (though you'll have to find me first, and I'm paying a significant proportion of the city to pretend that they're me on the day you come to find me).

Of course I could post a picture of you and reveal your real name and your place of employment. But I think you'd still be safe.

I'll have you know that harmonyharmony lookalike is a lucrative position here. They're all very convincing and I have only to send a single text message to mobilise the entire army to swarm around my place of work. I think of everything.

Except for where I've put the original file for my Sibelius font. At this rate I'm going to have to input all the unicode codes again by hand.  Angry

A hazard of over-tidyness, hh: perhaps you should have left it in view....

Actually that would have been irrelevant. I retrieved it from the old mac (Malcolm)'s hard-drive via Firewire (in transfer mode - it was the most stable way) so it's all moving files from folders no matter where they're stored. So there.   Tongue

It's worse than that! I've overwritten it or something equally stupid!

I think Mr. Ron Dough has a very good idea. It is very similar idea to Mr. t-p. Everything has to be spread on the desk single file and big piles of photocopied paper as long as four, five, six and counting years. Noone is allowed to touch anything on the desk or move anything (and that includes removing any dust).
Nothing is ever lost this way. He finds it very useful.
Somehow it doesn't work for me.  I have to put things away in order not to find them ever again.
It takes a lot of compromise to make things work. Somehow I always find out that I am wrong. That is my fate.

Thank goodness I've never been into an IKEA in my life. Sounds ghastly.

Hey Janthefan, how goes it! Not long before me and the mrs are down your neck of the woods again, huh! We have to arrange something soon!!

Could someone combine these two post for us. I dont think I be able to. I hate double posting at the best of times and realised my error!!!

bbm I think that there are worse things in life than a double posting!
A triple posting though... That's when you worry.
The r3ok troll police come to get you if you post three times in a row.
I once posted four times in a row and within 30 minutes there was this knock at the door.
Ron Dough deprived me of my r3ok privileges for a week because of that.
It's a scary place when you get beyond the double posting.

Oh. Should I add one of these:  Wink?
I never know.
