I've been awake since 4.30, so there! Very bad-tempered I feel, too. However, the sun is shining and the sky is blue, which is such a change it's cheering me up a bit. Anyway, the world might end in the next half-hour Wink, so it won't matter.

Good to know you're hanging in there, Richard.

My sleep pattern has been all over the place too and I am mainlining echinacea against various local viral things. I guess the schizoid weather sends conflicting signals to the instinct-bright sunshine here in Vauxhall 2 hours ago, now a distinctly autumnal downpour ahead.  Currently I find I sleep in Saturdays, which is not great if its a 6-day week.

Reminds me of an awful 60s song, I believe it was by Cliff Richard!!! Roll Eyes

bbm, could it have been this one? By Buddy Holly?

Raining In My Heart
The sun is out - the sky is blue
there’s not a cloud to spoil the view
but it’s raining - raining in my heart
The weather man says clear today
he doesn’t know you’ve gone away
and it’s raining - raining in my heart
Oh, misery - misery
what’s gonna become of me
I tell blues they musn’t show
but soon these tears are bound to flow
cause it’s raining - raining in my heart
But it’s raining - raining in my heart
And it’s raining - raining in my heart

Buddy Holly Raining In My Heart lyrics

Invite him to become friends with a tube train by standing in front of it, arms open wide...

Evening all.  Been sat in a hospital waiting room for far too long today and fairly recently left the other half looking rather lonely to be taken into theatre in the morning.   Sad Sad

I'm afraid my brain is fried, so if I say anything more idiotic than usual, please don't hold it against me...

Many, many sympathies.  Hope all goes well.  Try to have a decent night's sleep, I know it's difficult but you'll be better able to cope tomorrow. Take care Ruby2.

Thanks Milly - appreciated.  You're right, I do need an early night.  Problem is that this board is really cheering me up.  Hmm...caught between a marshmallow and a soft place..  Grin

Mills is right, Rubes: take care of the other half by taking care of yourself, too. Very bests.

Thanks Ron.  I will go to bed soon. Promise.  On the plus side, I don't have to get up at stupid-o'clock again tomorrow - just early enough to phone in and see what on earth's happening.

Does anyone know what time you should best phone in to see what time a morning op is scheduled?  I couldn't get very much info out of anyone earlier, they just said to ring.  Huh

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Yeah I should probably make it clear that I don't look like that.  At least not until I'm properly asleep.

Rubes, chances are that the op hadn't been scheduled when you spoke to them. I'd be inclinced to phone before you collapse into bed tonight. If he's having a general then he'll  be Nil by Mouth, so the Night Staff may now have the Op list for tomorrow. If they haven't got it now, then they should certainly know by 7-7.30 ish tomorrow when they hand over Of course then they probably won't answer the phone Roll Eyes Give it a try tonight and push a bit if necessary.

Good luck.

Wow, really? Gosh I'd never have considered that!  Thanks I'll give it a go.  This whole thing reminds me so much of last year when my mum was in for a double bypass. I keep having to remind myself that it doesn't matter if I'm a pain in the a*** it's the results that count.  And my God my mum got results - we can barely keep up with her these days - she's unstoppable!  Respect is due to Glenfield hospital...  Smiley
