Have we a 'chillin thread'. Might be a good idea. I've been absent from here today, due to work. Looks as though people need chill time. I hope members will feel better soon.

we are not ( for some unearthly reason ) allowed to comment if not truly sympathetic and kind
Where the devil do you get that idea from?

Anywhere you like to look.

Here is a true story .. my life this morning.

I have been having trouble with my asthma , I have suffered with chronic asthma since I was 16
I phoned my doctor at about 11 am to ask for an appointment with the nurse at the asthma clinic that I attend regularly. I was answered by an answer machine and asked to leave a message. I did, I said I wanted an appointment , gave the reason, and my phone number... I am still waiting for a reply.

Helpful eh?

A

P.S. I do have a headache... sorry.

Sorry to hear that A. I know the feeling with asthma, which i expect you may remember a few  months ago. Since then, April, my asthma has actually been a lot better! Me and MrsBBM have put it down to stress, as to the reason why I was suffering quite badly. I only have to have my ventolin now, thank goodness. I can sympathise with you there A. Hope your headache goes soon.

Sorry you're feeling carp, A Sad I'm rather surprised the Asthma Clinic didn't get back to you. I have a sinking feeling they may think that if it's really serious then you'll go to A&E, which, frankly, aint good enough Angry

I don't know actually as I left my metre behind when I moved! The nurse always looks in astonishment when I blow into the tube and says try again... always the same though!!!!

I was told that at my best I have a third less lung capacity of normal.

It is not an emergency Mort ( thanks for asking) it is just that I don't usually have a problem so long as I take my becloforte , serevent and ventolin as instructed but I have been feeling really quite wheezy this past few days and think it ought to be checked.

I shall phone again tomorrow!

Phew! I go away for about 12 days and come back to 9 pages of unread posts and 16 pages in the Grumpy Room alone!  Good thing I knew I'd be exhausted and had scheduled a day of doing nothing today.

Anyone wondering about Eurostar travellers will be interested to hear my train from Paris yesterday morning left on time and arrived in St Pancras only about 45 min later than scheduled.  We sat in front of the tunnel entrance for a while and went a bit more slowly through the tunnel than usual, but otherwise service was pretty normal.  Except the bar/cafe car ran out of almost everything - people were panic-buying while waiting in front of the tunnel.

Don't take this the wrong way, but you reminded me of the man with a wooden leg, named George.
