No, it's for the staff room on Monday, although I'm tempted to keep the coffee one to myself (which is horribly selfish  Sad)

You're a !

It's a while since I made the lemon cake; I confess I haven't made my own lemon curd as time is short. Might bake a raisin loaf before I leave for London tomorrow morning... (which could well justify me retaining the coffee cake!!)

With apologies to all veggies who may be viewing. Chez Mort ce soir, roast lamb with thyme and garlic, roast pots and green beans. Oh, and gravy of course! Smiley

Oh dear, decisions decision. I bought some beautiful plump mackeral, wonderfully fresh and was going to bake one of them to have with a green salad and a goodly handful of rocket. Now the weather is gloomy, chucking it down with rain and somehow it just doesn`t feel like fish and salad weather Undecided

Hmm, maybe you can fool yourself into wanting fish and salad, Mort.  An hour before dinner, shut all the curtains so you can't see the miserable gloom and rain outside, turn on all the lights, turn up the heating a notch, put on some music guaranteed to make you smile - and have a glass of crisp white wine.

Sometimes that sort of thing works, sometimes it doesn't.  I once cheered myself up immensely in the middle of a horrible, long, dragged-out, bitter winter by indulging in an afternoon of luscious tropical fruits.  Not great for the food miles, but helped my mental health no end!   Grin

Strina,  I`ve just remembered an Indian recipe for mackeral. You marinate it with chillies and tamarind juice. Wonderfully spicy! Maybe with some Jasmine rice ....? Hmm, that might do the trick.
