Too true Mort, our Nige, he knows what food is about.

Apologies for any who don't find food as sensuous as I do and who thought I was a little OTTP in my description.  Gawd this, lovaduck, it is going to be seriously mind blowing!

Anyway, thankfully it's brown bread (with some cooked lentils added on impulse, which probably were what did it...), so it doesn't really matter if it's a little heavy.

A little heavy, but not clumpy inside or anything.  So, okay for me, but it wouldn't make much of a centrepiece for a bread feast or anything like that.

Lentils? Good grief, inko, no wonder it's gone saggy. How can those poor little yeast mites possibly do their rising work if they're being suffocated by mountainous great dollops of soggy starch?

Sorry inky, at first sight I thought it was one of those Italian cakes like Pannnetone  Kiss

Never heard of lentil bread but isn't there an Indian flat bread made with lentils?

That bread looks like it would look fine if you trimmed off its little crown.

Burning tonight chez hh is a simple risotto.
Mushrooms, pepper, pak choi feta and lamb stock.
With cabbage of course.

I always forget about risotto - might do one at the weekend.  Can you re-post your goats cheese risotto recipe hh?

Chez Anty ce-soir, the remainder of yesterday's baked gammon thickly sliced and drizzled with the remaining juices and I have par-boiled some potatoes, cut them quite small and roughed them up and they are roasting with a sprinkle of rosemary and some garlic.  I have today got some juniper berries so a small amount of savoy cabbage to which when drained will be added the crushed berries, some crushed peppercorns and some creme fraiche stirred in.  Should be a very aromatic meal  Smiley

Thank you Nigel Slater  Kiss

p.s.  I hope Martle will not get too excited about this  Cheesy

Hmm. I can post a goats cheese risotto but I can't guarantee it will be the same one...
