Wishing you a pleasant and enjoyable birth-day, Dr Grew.

We hope that after you and your companions have taken a celebratory tea there are party games in prospect what!

Happy Birthday Sydney Grew, and thank you for introducing us to so much new repertoire.

A belated Happy Birthday to Scott Nelson too, occasional poster here!

Warmest birthday felicitations to Member Grew.  Might the occasion be fittingly marked by a celebratory performance of your string quartets?

We wish to add our birthday greetings to Member Grew and our thanks for introducing many of us to the delights of the music of Vítězslav Novák through his thread on The Storm.

says, "followed up recommendation for Abbado Tchaik 5 in Japan. Found it via ebay in what appears very much to be a Chinese bootleg". Only cost Ł3.50 plus p&p, so not complaining too much that it only offers Dolby Digital 5.1 (no DTS or LPCM), and that the menus are of very limited functionality (they don't even include the Tchaik 5, you have to skip forward to it). Neither will I moan about the fact that it skipped and stuttered its was through the first movement of Tchaik 5 until I cleaned it thoroughly. It is indeed quite a stunning performance of the work. The Stravinsky and Mussorgsky aren't bad, either:

Oh, and many happy visits to concerts around the world.
