I hope it is not too early to anticipate a Happy Birthday for perfect wagnerite tomorrow. No doubt, he has been expecting the following all week, but somebody has to do it: But he might also like: Happy Birthday, pw!

Happy Birthday, PW!!How about a slap-up birthday lunch, followed by a bracing Downs walk? It's clear, chill and sunny here today!

Although a walk in the Sussex countryside sounds a wonderful idea, I fervently hope that the forthcoming year brings you many more ups than Downs, PW!

Following the illustrious Mr Inquisitor (who is not merely a waking musical encyclopedia, but has proved that he spends all his time living inside the notes!), I also wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY PWBaz

Many, many thanks for all the birthday greetings. Having a great day so far - teenage daughter cooked breakfast and we're all off out for a meal this evening - and it is a really gorgeous bright cloudless day here so a bracing walk on the Downs could well be on the cards for this afternoon.

At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)
