Forgive the forthcoming rant, dear friends, but how low can you get?

There has been, for some time, a really good video on Youtube of King's College singing Parry's "I was glad". The only version available.  I've enjoyed it several times and passed the link on to various friends.

Where is it now? NOT AVAILABLE. Why? "Due to a copyright claim by King's College, Cambridge."

Of all the petty, small-minded, vindictive, selfish, stupid things to do. Yes, go on KC and you pretentious gits that run the place - deprive people of a great piece of music. What harm was it doing you? ABSOLUTELY NONE. What income was it losing you? ABSOLUTELY NONE. What pleasure was it giving to others? LOTS.

I don't suppose it will do any good, but I've got a day of tomorrow (today, actually) so somebody at Cambridge is going to get an earful down the telephone.

The word is, in some quarters, that online video services like YouTube, can, if properly utilized, actually help to generate more revenue, sales, etc. than conventional media.

Absolutely, KittyB. That's waht I've heard, too - and it seems logical enough to me. I've certainly bought things based on what I've seen on Youtube.

So, even more reason to be very angry indeed. I tell you, the phone wires will be melting tomorrow if I can get onto somebody responsible for this unforgiveable petty-mindedness.  Angry Angry Angry Angry
