Need to close this one. Yes the Who? was the Rubinstein-Heifetz-Piatigorsky trio, when they were filmed or photographed.



The photo is featured on a re-issue CD and here we see it, the What? being Ravel and Tchaikovsky trios, featuring recordings from When? 1950.

Sibelius is correct roslynmuse. He was getting on in age (I won't say how old cos that would give away the When?  Wink

That would make the 'when' 1955 and the 'where', Sibelius's house in Finland. The 'why' was Ormandy's visit with the whole of the Philadelphia Orchestra (Shocked) around the time of Sibelius's 90th birthday.
