.....and swimming, neither of which I can fit into the "getting from A to B" part of my life. I'd like to know how many people swim to work! I did some work a little while ago with a company in Basel, where, in high summer, it is quite the thing after work to change into your cozzie, put your clothes in a watertight bag, and swim down the Rhine with the current (assuming that's where you live, of course!) The company didn't specialise in the protection of chunks of magic gold, by any chance? In Basel it's well and truly on the cards! (Of course if you were swimming in the Limmat it would be a shoo-in. )

Can you imagine putting waterwings on your laptop and pushing it along like a float?!

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

I've joined the gym... and had a lovely swim this morning. It's in the City of London so very very quiet at weekends.

Nothing to do with that duck, I hope. Ducks move (people) in mysterious ways, Martle.

Damn. It's not, is it! I always confuse Bucks Fizz and the Buzzcocks. But then the joke doesn't work ...
