Interesting use of the word 'conversely' there, Veronika.

But not inappropriate I think.

I am here, Andy D. I am listening to Webern on Listen again (Friday). The orchestral piece (did not get the name) is beautiful. I know that you like Webern.
People are celebrating approaching Christmas out and about.

Hi t-p I like Webern's music but I don't like him which is a bit of a problem. Celebrating Christmas? Bah humbug, don't be fooled by my festive aardvark avatar, I'm really a grumpy old so-and-so.

Ron's not celebrating Christmas out and about: he's just scrapped Christmas card design No. 8, and isn't that happy with No. 9 either. And he was meant to have posted them last week....

I'm here too, just trying to get some work done. Then I think it'll be time for a nightcap, some music, a quick disapproving look at the kitchenful of washing up, and a hasty retreat to bed.

A sinkful, or even a sinkful and drainingboardful, sure, but a kitchenful? Hope it's a small kitchen.

We outsourced both the cooking and the washing up. Nice Italian restaurant in Brockley. Sardinian even, it would seem. Mmm. Mirto. One of my favourite beverages.

With a draining board that size you should be fine.

I am glad to hear that everybody is makin a good progress toward successful Christmas. What could be better than to finish washing up and write yet another Christmas card or to be a little grumpy. These all are contribution to our successful Christmas and reaching 2008. I am excited about 2008. We are lucky to have each other. After finishing my share of chores I am off to play Schumann violin sonata. We have a big piano bash for students who want to play in front of people. There is going to be a baby grand piano.

Ah, a kindred spirit! You`ve just given me my first laugh of the day, Richard Now this house in which I'm living in has a dishwasher, which goes a little way towards compensating for its being at the edge of the known world, but hasn't been working for the past few days, hence the Augean look in the kitchen. This morning I got up and FIXED IT. At least I messed around with it for a while and now it works again. Which in turn is some small compensation for the fact that I had to get the AA out to (it turned out) replace a bit of my car's engine yesterday afternoon after it refused to move from the car park at Sainsbury's.
