had a collection of various animal skulls dotted around. Just to make it more macabre, some of them had christmas baubles in the eye sockets.

Gosh.  I frequent three fora on the net, one of the others being M&S.  I'm the admin of the third; last night I was doing some spring cleaning down the back by the databases and didn't what happen but I accidentally tossed out the user list.  Whoops!  Anyway; up half the night, and now what've I ended up with but having the whole thing converted to SMF (that's the forum software that's used 'ere), all fancy, and I've access to all of 'em luvly shiny admin knobs.   AH yes, 'twas a long night, but turned out for best! (excepting maybe the fact that it's hard to distinguish one forum from another one :/  (all of the other themes available for SMF forums online, it seems, are shite)).

Huge thanks to Andy, Baz and co for finally helping me make he switch to Firefox.  This thing is so fast.  The only question now is why I was so slow!

Anyway, still got the sendspace thing to sort out.

2. I can't work out if the new jeans that I've bought are long enough in the leg. The label says that they are but I'm not convinced.
I always have that sort of doubt whenever I buy a pair of trousers of any kind, hh.
Ooh. There are hems that can be let down...
Have just let down the hems and they look much better now.
I'm quite tired now so I'm going to go to bed now.
Night all.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah what just happened to the last three hours of my life?  I...catalogued my library of books using a piece of software called delicious library, that's what.  It's...sehr cool - it uses the laptops in-built camera to do barcode scanning, and then automatically downloads details and cover photos if available (in 95% of cases there is, and it's downloaded by the time I've put the book back down).  Aaaaaaaaaah now all my books are on my bed and floor.  Bugger.  But they're all on my laptop now as well, which is something Cheesy  (not much, but something, and *oh* was it exciting?!)

Here's a carefully posed snapshot of the program in action:

Going through all my books was a very nostalgic experience.  And that I can glance through it all in five seconds or so is a bit weird as well.

As for what use this catalogue might actually be, well, I'm not so sure.  But whatever, it was fun and quite exciting.  It doesn't have any nice export options, or let one network with other people, as does, say, librarything.

This is a monster of a gale.  It hasn't let up all day!  Hatches duly battened down and no way am I risking putting the bins out for tomorrow's early collection after seeing what's happened to some of the others.  Poor dog has been in the house all day except for a few very brief garden visits - brief because he wanted them to be!  It's terrifying actually.  Don't know how I've still got windows.  All I've done is two school runs, a trip to the supermarket and child for a haircut after school.  There were plenty of parking spaces for once so most people have stayed in.  Bad for business in the town too.  Sad

Anyone like to buy some sand?  Grin

There are times when living by the sea isn't ideal, Milly! Usually I'm envious.

I think I heard a bin or two go over a moment ago, but there's no way I'm going out to look.

We had overnight gales and torrential rain which continued into the morning.  I got to work absolutely soaked and in fear of being blown over then it calmed down and the sun came out briefly.  At the moment there isn't even a breeze ........  Today was bin day here but I put out black sacks instead of the bin!

Been monitoring the Met Office re the snow and it looks like we might only have a few flakes here although it does smell like snow is coming and the cloud is building rapidly.

I came home early with horrible dry cough and sore throat and was hoping to be snowed in tomorrow - looks like that is not to be  Sad

Ho!  A really musical day.  Howling wind, crashing and rolling bins, cracking branches, rain, hail and sleet thumping the windows, creeking doors, odd thumps, the occasional forgotten watering can hurtling past the window on its way to the lane, cars running into the dykes, tractors hauling them out, slurping of soup etc etc.  Snow forecast, as it is on the tops.  Village pub is, I suspect, out of bounds for me.  I think I'll plan a couple of holidays.  Trust everybody is well and whole.
Cheers

I nearly posted a feminist wimmins libramation objection to cars running into dykes, but then I desisted  on the grounds that this is a family orientated message board  Cheesy

Yes, I've been wondering too.
