-- --- .-. ... . .-.. ... ..--..
Smiley

(no; I don't think that will do, really: '-- --- .-. ... . .-.. ... ..--..' is such a savoury word in this context, don't you think?)

Slept for another 8-ish hours (though was rudely - literally - awoken by drunken revellers in the small hours) but feel much better this morning than yesterday!
No sign of my glasses chez my supervisor apparently...  Undecided
Still feeling quite zen, but it's a sort of empty feeling.
I think that I need to break out the five-line staves and get busy.

Doesn't it just?
Done something distinctly unwise and made a visit to Amazon. Bought some travel guides for Bhutan, Greek islands and the Amalfi coast. I plan to go on holiday this year. Bhutan will be too expensive but it's a long term goal to go on one of those trekking holidays (and take reasonably good recording equipment), so it'll probably be either a Greek island with a friend (if I can find one Smiley) to spend a week or two cooking myself and reading a lot, or somewhere like Sorrento. It will depend on my money or lack thereof but I have a feeling it will pick me up and give me something to which I can look forward.
While I was there (Sad) I couldn't resist throwing in a CD of Burmese music and the second part of the War Games series of Batman graphic novels. I have to go food shopping as well today. I'm going to have a money-related downer later on. I can tell. Also, I'm going to have to buy some train tickets soon to visit my family for Easter. I'll be lucky if I manage a holiday without having to reach into my savings. Sad
This is all in the wrong room isn't it?

I'm now wondering if I imagined it because I haven't seen it since, but did anyone else notice the sponsored link at the top of the page yesterday exhorting us to 'Date sexy Arabs here'?  Shocked Shocked

No, I've been endlessly pummelled with ads for an Irish mating dating website called parship.  Which makes me think of anything but romance.

Mum* sent some younger friends there about ten years ago, they had a splendid time even though he wasn't too keen on some of the rope-and-plank bridges.

By my calculations, this should be my 4000th post. Gulp. Just needed to get it out of the way.

My, my! I tried to hold you back, hh, but you were stronger and now it seems my only chance is giving up the fight. And how could I ever refuse?

The city is a process which always veers away from the form envisaged and desired, ... whose revenge upon its architects and planners undoes every dream of mastery. It is [also] one of the sites where Dasein is assigned the impossible task of putting right what can never be put right. - Rob Lapsley
