I have let me hair go a LOT recently; haven't had it cut in several months and it's rather curling in rather dodgy ways.  BUT, in the past week, people have been asking me a lot more random questions in the street, and one night walking back home, I had THREE people nod at me in a friendly manner.

Can I put all of this new approachability down to my increased scruffiness?

(not conditioning at the moment either; it rather makes my hair go FLAT on top and generally make me look RATHER ESPECIALLY ODD).

Indeed.  Half of the smoking population of Dublin now seem to assume that I'm in possession of a cigarette lighter while rather entirely seeming to forget that they might have some reason to carry one on their own person.
